The contest will begin with the March, 2012 meeting.

Contest Rules:

• Author must be a paid up member of S.F.W.A.

• Members may submit only their own work.

• Author must be present at a regular meeting to enter.

• Authors may submit up to three entries at any meeting, with no single entry more than 12 double-spaced pages.

• Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form, and a $2 cash entry fee.

• If a contest is selected by the winner on the submission form, the entry must conform to the rules of said contest, otherwise, the Author will be deemed to have selected no contest.

• The Contest Committee will be the judges, and its decision is final.

• PRIZE: The South Florida Writers Association will pay the entry fee of the winning entry into any national writing competition, up to a maximum of $20. This will be the only prize.

• Non-winning entries will be returned to authors at next meeting, or by mail. Neither the South Florida Writers Association nor the Contest Committee will be held responsible for entries lost in the mail and may be critiqued by Contest Committee members.

• The winner will be notified by phone or email before the next regular meeting, and the names of all submitting members will be listed on the South Florida Writers Association website and in the Author’s Voice monthly newsletter.

• Within 60 days of winner notification, if the Author of the winning entry does not select a contest to which to submit the winning entry, the Contest Committee will select an appropriate contest and submit the entry on the winner’s behalf. Any prize won, will go to the Author.
