Three March Writing Contests:

Anthem Essay Contest is offered The Ayn Rand Institute for essays written by 8th-10th graders. The top winner receives $2,000, though there are more than 200 prizes to be had. Deadline: March 20.

Four Way Books Poetry Prizes is offered for the best debut poetry collection by a poet. Winner receives $1,000 honorarium, plus book publication. Deadline: March 31.

Work-in-Progress Grants are offered by the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI). Grants are awarded in amounts of $2,000 or $500. Deadline: March 15.
